Travel and Hotel FAQ

Where should I stay for Eczema Expo?

Expo ’19 is being held at the Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Gainey Ranch. NEA has arranged for a discounted room rate for attendees.

Our block is open until Friday, July 21st. In the event that the block has closed or the hotel is full, we have made arrangements for a discounted rate at the nearby Sonesta Suites.

All rooms in the Expo block are allergy-friendly, cleaned and maintained with unscented, irritant-free detergents and cleansers.

A standard king or 2-queen bed room is $119/nt, plus a reduced resort fee of $15/nt, for a total of $134/nt + tax.

Upgrades are available, also at special Expo rates.

  • For $149/nt, you may select an a Pure Hypo-Allergenic room, featuring the standard Expo allergy-friendly maintenance plus a state-of the art air purification system, PURE shield, hypoallergenic mattress and pillow, and refrigerator.
For $249/nt, you may choose a Club Access room, which will also include the standard Expo allergy-friendly room maintenance plus access to the Regency Club ‘s European-style breakfast, evening hors d’oeuvres & cocktail service.

Book your room online, or by phone at 480-444-1234 using reference code NEAS.

In the event that you need to book at the Sonesta Suites at Gainey Ranch, you can reserve your room at (480) 922-6969 or online. Refer to National Eczema Association for a special rate of $95 on their standard suite. Note that, while allergy and other special accommodations may be available on request at the Sonesta, flare-friendly rooms are not standard like in the Expo block at the Hyatt Regency. Furthermore, Sonesta rooms do not include welcome gift bags, access to eczema care supplies, Old Town shuttles, and free Expo parking. Sonesta Suites are situated .5 miles from the Hyatt Regency.

Why should I stay at the Hyatt Regency Scottsdale?

There are dozens of reasons, but here are our top 10:

  1. Our group rates are better than any you’ll find at a comparable local hotel.
  2. All Expo hotel guests will receive a welcome gift bag of custom-chosen eczema-friendly products and NEA logo items.
  3. All rooms in our block will be allergy-friendly, cleaned and maintained with irritant-free cleansers. (Feather-free rooms are also available on request.)
  4. Expo room guests will have access to complimentary eczema care supplies, including bleach bath and wet wrap supplies.
  5. All rooms have free wifi.
  6. The Hyatt Regency will be the hub of Expo activity, where the community gathers, both organically and at informal, free onsite activities.
  7. Expo hotel guests will have access to the Hyatt Regency’s stunning pools, 3-story waterslide, outdoor games and indoor activities, lush grounds, live nightly music, and luxurious indoor spaces.
  8. Easy room access in case you need to take a nap or freshen up during Expo, and conveniently close to complimentary on-site morning yoga, meditation, and other fitness classes.
  9. Free onsite self-parking and complimentary shuttle to Old Town Scottsdale.
  10. Your fellow Expo attendees will be staying at the Hyatt Regency, too, making it easy to meet new and old friends for a walk, cup of coffee, or meal.

When should I arrive and depart?

We recommend arriving in time for Thursday’s Expo ’19 check-in, orientation sessions, and First Night Meetups, and departing after our All-Expo Luncheon Sunday afternoon. Or, perhaps you’d like to extend your stay…

How long can I stay at the Hyatt Regency with the Expo rate?

Enjoy Scottsdale! The Hyatt Regency is extending the group rate from July 13 through July 24, 2018, so stay a while!

How do I reserve my room at the Hyatt Regency with the Expo group rate?

Rooms at the group rate are available on a first-come-first-served basis; once the full block has been booked, there is no guarantee that additional rooms will be made available at the group rate. Book online, or by phone at 480-444-1234 using reference code NEAS.

Rooms must be booked by Tuesday, June 21, 2019 in order to receive the group rate.

What if I have a special request or need special accommodations?

A limited number of rooms will be available with bathtubs and will only be available by request upon booking. Because bleach baths can be a critical part of some eczema patients’ management routine, we ask that you only request a bath if it’s essential to the disease management of someone staying in your room.

If rooms with bathtubs are available after the group booking date closes (6/19/19), then we welcome you to request a bathtub room at that time! If you require a bathtub and aren’t able to secure one, please consider that there are two chlorinated pools onsite that may serve your needs (and we’ll have plenty of evening pool time scheduled!). If you’re unable to secure a tub and are concerned, please contact expo@nationaleczema.org.

All rooms have cooler-temp mini-fridges, which will keep drinks cool but aren’t sufficient for cooling medications that need refrigeration or extended storage of perishable food. A limited number of in-room microwaves and mini-refrigerators are available by request on a first-come-first-served basis. The refrigerator at the bell desk is also available to guests.

Feather-free bedding is available, as well, while supplies last. All such requests should be submitted to the Hyatt Regency by no later than 6/1/19.

If you’d like to supply your own linens, or if you have concerns about allergy, medical, or access issues, please notify expo@nationaleczema.org.

The Hyatt Regency is committed to the comfort and safety of all Expo guests and will do their very best to accommodate your requests.

Which airport should I fly into?

Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, about a 20-minute drive from the Hyatt Regency Scottsdale, is a hub for both American/US Airways and Southwest Airlines.

What’s the best way to travel from the airport to the hotel?

  • A cab or rideshare will cost between $25-50 depending on time and traffic.
  • The Super Shuttle costs $21 per person.

What is parking like at the Hyatt Regency?

  • Complimentary self-parking for all guests in the Expo room block is included in resort fee
  • Self-parking $21/day for attendees not in Expo room block
  • Valet parking $33/day
