With the holiday season in full swing, it’s time to get festive. Spice up your next party with one of our four custom eczema-friendly mocktail recipes, blended with a mixture of antioxidants, including green tea, blueberry, turmeric and honey. It doesn’t take alcohol to make a delicious beverage, but, for those of your guests who do wish to imbibe, our resident mixologist, Steve Turner, who lives with eczema and goes by “The Brit Behind Bars,” has crafted four unique recipes that work just as well with alcohol as without. Enjoy, friends, and let us know what you think!

Ingredients:

  • 3 oz Green Tea chilled
  • 1 tsp plain plain coconut yogurt (cocojune has no sugars added)
  • 1 oz pineapple juice
  • 1 oz mandarin juice
  • 1 oz blood orange juice
  • ½ oz honey syrup (2 parts honey to 1 part hot water)

If you’d like alcohol, add 1-2 oz of your favorite dark rum.

How to make it: add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker half filled with ice; shake hard and strain into a tall chimney glass; garnish with a small bunch of mint and an orange wheel.

Spice Runner

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz Spiced Rum
  • 8 oz of oat milk
  • 1 tsp honey
  • ¼ tsp turmeric
  • Pinch of black pepper
  • Pinch of Cinnamon

How to make it: in a saucepan heat the oat milk until simmering; add the honey and turmeric and stir until integrated; pour in a cup and saucer or a mug and add your spiced rum if you like. Sprinkle on black pepper and cinnamon.

Blueberry Beekeeper

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz London Dry Gin
  • 6 blueberries
  • ¾ oz lemon juice
  • ½ oz lavender honey syrup*
  • *To a saucepan add 2 tsp of dried lavender flowers, ½ cup honey, ½ cup water and heat all ingredients until honey has dissolved. Remove from heat and let it steep for an hour. Strain out the flowers and it’s ready to use.

How to make it: add the blueberries to a cocktail shaker and muddle the berries; half fill shaker with ice and add the remaining ingredients; shake hard and strain into your favorite cocktail glass. Garnish with a few lavender flowers.

For a zero proof version substitute the gin for a nonalcoholic gin like The Spirit of Gin by FreeSpirits.

Honey Sweet Green

  • 2 oz vodka
  • 4 oz green tea
  • ¾ oz lemon juice
  • ½ oz honey syrup

How to make it: add all ingredients to an iced cocktail shaker; shake hard and strain into a coupe or a mason jar over ice. Garnish with lemon and mint.
