Expo 2021 FAQ
How will Virtual Expo 2021 be the same as an in-person Expo?
Virtual Expo puts all of the best of the Expo experience right at your fingertips: information, community and support that you can carry back with you into the real world.
Like past in-person Expos, Virtual Expo will offer opening and closing general sessions, and presentation, discussion and support breakout sessions. The schedule will also include live group fitness classes, in-depth workshops, meet-ups and ecz-tracurricular activities like our annual Ecz-travaganza dance party.
Virtual Expo will feature an exhibitor hall where you can discover new products created for the eczema community, and gathering spaces throughout the event site where you can run into old friends, meet new friends and connect with #skinfluencers.
How will Virtual Expo 2021 be the same as 2020?
To accommodate our global community, Virtual Expo will feature a modular agenda, allowing education and connection to take place from early morning until evening. Session types and topics include:
- Breakout sessions: presentations, discussions and support groups.
- Ask Me Anything (AMA): in addition to the usual post-presentation Q&A, scheduled AMA sessions will give attendees direct access to world-class ecz-perts.
- Expo On Demand: a library of exclusive pre-recorded presentations to let you fine-tune your eczema education.
- Challenges: Share your flares, introduce your pets or show us your dance moves! Join one or all of our challenges to connect with fellow Expo attendees and earn points for raffle entries.
How will Virtual Expo 2021 be even better than previous Expos?
Expo 2020 was our first virtual event. It was a blast and we learned a lot! Based on what we learned, we’ve made some changes for Virtual Expo 2021.
Expo 2021 will be held on a new, more interactive event site with chances to connect with other attendees, presenters and exhibitors face-to-face, one-on-one or in small groups. Because Expo is virtual, you’ll have opportunities to meet people from across the globe!
This year, we’re anchoring Expo sessions around five general sessions: Opening Session on Friday afternoon, Closing Session on Sunday afternoon and three panel discussions on Saturday and Sunday. Panel discussions will feature world-class experts leading groundbreaking conversations on the topics that impact our community the most.
Will there be Expo Camps for younger eczema warriors?
Virtual Expo Camps look different than at in-person events.
Expo Camps, which will be for Junior (ages 6-12) and Senior (ages 12-17) Warriors only (sorry, Mini Warriors), will feature the same modular agenda as adult sessions. Our goal to enable parents and caregivers to assemble a schedule that will suit each child’s interests and fit with other family members’ schedules.
When, where and how do I set my schedule?
Unlike in-person event registration, virtual event registrants will not assemble their agenda during the registration process. For Virtual Expo, you’ll be able to customize your experience by building your agenda on the site where Expo will be held.
After you register for Expo, you’ll receive an email from Pathable, our event site host, with your unique code to access the site, where you’ll be able to set your Expo schedule. (Note: The Expo event site is scheduled to open July 29, so if you register before then, you won’t receive the email with access until after that date.)
We suggest setting your agenda promptly once the event platform is open, as space in some sessions is limited.
What if I can’t attend a live session?
Expo On Demand is library of exclusive content including pre-recorded presentations, select breakout presentations (but not discussions or support session) and general sessions. Expo On Demand content will continue to be available to Expo attendees after the event.
Will I get a t-shirt?
Yes! Well, most registrants with US mailing addresses will get an Expo t-shirt, trucker cap, buttons and samples from our Sample Buffet sponsors! Supplies are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Expo swag will be delivered to registrants in mid-August.
