It’s here! Our summer issue of NEA Magazine has arrived.

Science, Stories, Tattoos and More

On page 10, Jodi Johnson, PhD, explains the science behind eczema and elevated rates of anxiety and depression, plus key take-home points for future conversations with healthcare providers.

On page 14, we feature NEA Ambassador Jeremy Paredes and his story of persevering against septic shock and hospitalization due to his eczema. Jeremy starts his first semester at Georgia Tech University in the fall of 2021.

On page 17, Melissa Haller Tanoko explores the various reasons why your sunscreen may be causing your skin to flare. It’s more complicated than you might think!

We’re also excited to share stories from our community about their experience with “Eczema and Tattoos,” including pictures of the good, the great and the painful. Plus, a dermatologist, an allergist and several tattoo artists share their expertise on how and when it’s optimal to get a tattoo versus when it’s better to wait.

Thanks for reading! And let us know if you have any feedback. We’re also eager to hear from our community and welcome any suggestions you have for future magazine stories. Reach out to us at Editor@NationalEczema.org
